You are invited to join us for Fort Ticonderoga’s Eighth Annual War College of the Seven Years’ War on May 17-18, 2003. Over 175 participants—people with a deep interest in 18th-century military history—join us each year for this two-day seminar. The War College focuses on the military history of North America in the Seven Years’ War (1754-1763). The War College provides participants with an opportunity to listen to and interact with the presenters in a relaxed atmosphere. Participation in the War College is limited and is by pre-registration only.

FRIDAY EVENING SESSION: “AN INTRODUCTION TO THE SEVEN YEARS’ WAR” 
Karl Crannell and Richard Strum, both from Fort Ticonderoga, will give an overview of the Seven Years’ War for attendees who would like a refresher in the overall history of the conflict. No additional charge, but pre-registration requested.

    Fill out the attached registration form and mail with your check made payable to Fort Ticonderoga. Registrations with credit card information may be phoned to the Fort. Registrations with payment will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration will close at 175 participants. Early Bird Registrations must be received by April 1st, not post marked by that date. A confirmation letter will be sent to all participants along with information on local accommodations.

    SPECIAL OFFER FOR FIRST 150 REGISTRANTS The first 150 registrants for the War College will receive a limited edition tote bag. Register early to reserve yours.

    A sandwich & salad buffet lunch w/ homemade soup, including fountain drink and cookie, Saturday and Sunday in the Log House Restaurant, $7.50 per person. By pre-registration only.

    Dinner Saturday Evening 

    Pot roast with gravy, baked potato with sour cream, Belgian carrots, soft drink, and dessert, $15 per person. Vegetarian option available. By pre-registration only.

    TEACHER SCHOLARSHIPS

    Fort Ticonderoga is sponsoring four scholarships for secondary or middle school teachers who are first-time attendees at the War College. Contact Rich Strum, Director of Interpretation & Education, at the Fort at rstrum@fort-ticonderoga.org.

    For those who wish to support the War College teacher scholarships as patrons, two levels are available.

    Honorary Lieutenant Colonel ($250)

    Includes all meals and registration fee; a reserved seat at the War College; recognition in the War College program; an honorary commission as a lieutenant colonel; and an autographed copy of a book by a member of the War College Faculty; and an invitation to a private reception with the War College Faculty on Saturday afternoon.

    Honorary Colonel ($500)

    Includes all meals and registration fee; a reserved seat at the War College; recognition in the War College program; an honorary commission as a colonel; autographed copies of two books by members of the War College Faculty; and an invitation to a private reception with the War College Faculty on Saturday afternoon.

  • FORT TICONDEROGA MUSEUM AND MUSEUM STORE

    The Fort Ticonderoga Museum will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon for the convenience of War College attendees. War College Registration includes complimentary admission to Fort Ticonderoga on Friday, May 16th, through Sunday, May 18th. The Museum Store at the Log House will remain open until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and open early at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday for your shopping convenience. Several members of the War College Faculty will be signing copies of their books at the Museum Store on Saturday evening. Copies of their books will be for sale in the Museum Store. Remember, members of the Friends of Fort Ticonderoga receive a 10% discount on all books.
